I’ve had this lady bug in my house since december. She’s tilted to one side but she hasn’t decomposed and she doesn’t smell or anything. She’s just kinda sitting there, slanted and not moving.
How can I tell if she’s dead (if she died recently) or if she’s just not fully done hibernating since the weather keeps going hot-and-cold? Should I just put her outside and hope a bird doesn’t eat her (that seems a little mean…)?

Depends on coat.Is it made from full skins or pieces(first worth times more)? Jacket or full length coat? Any problems with it, like oxidized fur, bold areas on sleeves and front? Designer (if it is not famous like Dior etc you shouldn’t worry )? Anyway, 50 years is a lot for fur coat.In best case–full length, full skins coat in pristine condition will cost around 500$.
To determine value of your coat, you need to go on ebay, find coats,similar with yours and see their price.

Hang it up in a bathroom or laundry room. Something about the steam/moisture helps to rid the item of that smoke smell. You may have to leave it hanging up for a few days depending on how bad it is.
