Now as the baby boomer populations ages there is an ever increasing romance with the past. Nostalgia for an era past. What would have been considered a discard or 2nd hand and unwanted has now become highly desirable. This is the case for the vintage motorcycle jacket.

Likely the movie Grease and the Happy Days series with the lovable Fonz were partly responsible for the growing desire to wear vintage. Vintage sounds so much better than used.

To begin your quest for a vintage motorcycle jacket begin with older family members, friends and neighbors. Its amazing what you will find salted away and forgotten in the back of a closet. I didn’t find any leather when I went through my parents closet but I did find a very sharp navy suit from the 1940’s. They don’t make clothes like they used to. All the buttons and the belt were covered with the same material and beautifully finished. Clothes were made to last.

Next pay a visit to the local thrift stores, consignment stores and flea markets. You never know what you will find and the staff are more than happy to help you find a specific article of clothing.
